Learn more about our Hotel

Las Palmas by the Sea is one of the most traditional hotels in Puerto Vallarta and has been welcoming guests to its beachfront location for more than 45 years. With authentic Mexican décor and breathtaking ocean and sunset views, our all-inclusive hotel is steeped in the mystique and flavour of Puerto Vallarta. Las Palmas by the Sea is proud to be a 100% Mexican owned property, founded in 1973 as a 12 room hotel by Mr Ernesto Cruz. In 1974, Mr Gabriel Igartua stayed at the hotel and soon decided to form a partnership with Mr Cruz to help the property flourish. By 1977, the hotel had expanded to 102 rooms and the grand reopening was attended by Mr Flavio Romero de Velazco, Governor of the State of Jalisco. Two years later, the hotel expanded to 153 rooms and was reopened by the architect Roseell de La Lama, Secretary of Tourism.

The hotel’s continued popularity led to an expansion to 221 rooms in 1996. 2002 was an unforgettable year in the hotel’s history due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Kena, which destroyed the entire ground floor of the hotel. The resort was rebuilt with state-of-the-art design and amenities and now boasts 225 rooms with ocean and garden views, making it the perfect holiday destination for families, couples and groups seeking the authentic Puerto Vallarta experience.
